It’s Bo Time!™ SoBo to host Bojangles NASCAR Late Model 150 Saturday night

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — It’ll be Bo Time Saturday night at South Boston Speedway.

America’s Hometown Track will return to racing action Saturday, June 14 with the running of the Bojangles NASCAR Late Model 150 racing program.

The night of racing, which will get cranked up at 7 p.m., will feature five action-packed events, highlighted by a 150-lap shootout for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.

In honor of Father’s Day on Sunday, all dads will be admitted for the discounted price of $5 Saturday night.

In addition to the 150-lap race for the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division, there will also be races for the competitors in the Limited Sportsman Division, the Budweiser Pure Stock Division, the Modified Division and the Hornets Division.

Former NASCAR Whelen All American Series national champion Peyton Sellers has motored to four wins this season at the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval. In the process, he has secured a sizable lead over former track champion Matt Bowling in the chase for the 2014 track title.

Bowling is only seven points ahead of one-time winner Austin Thaxton in the standings. Bobby McCarty sits in the fourth spot in the standings, and Bruce Anderson has moved into the fifth-place slot.

Two-time winner Trey Crews continues to lead the way in the Limited Sportsman Division standings. Tommy Peregoy remains in second place. Peregoy is 16 points out of the lead and only one point ahead of defending champion Danny Willis Jr., who has scored one triumph this season.

J.D. Eversole, who scored his first victory of the season last week, is currently fourth in the standings. He is eight points behind Willis and 11 ahead of fifth-place Daryn Cockram.

Greg Autry, who motored to his fourth victory of the season last weekend, is in first place in the chase for the Budweiser Pure Stock Division championship.

Bruce Mayo is second in the standings. He is eight points ahead of third-place Johnny Layne and 12 points ahead of fourth-place Harrison Walker.

Jimmy Humblet and Mike Rudy are currently tied for first place in the Modified Division standings. The two are 17 points ahead of a third-place tie between Kyle Wood and Joe Scarborough.

In the chase for the Hornets Division crown, Kevin Currin owns a five point edge over second-place Austin Milam.

Pit gates will open on Saturday at 2 p.m. and practice for all divisions will beheld from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Qualifying time trials will roll off at 5:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open 5 p.m.

Adult admission is $10 with kids ages six and under admitted free.
