PASS Series, NASCAR Whelen Late Models highlight racing action at SoBo on March 24

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — The PASS Super Late Model Series will make the first of three visits this season to historic South Boston Speedway on Saturday, March 24.

The PASS Super Late Models will be featured in a 150-lap shootout on March 24. Also scheduled for action on March 24 will be the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stock Car Division and the touring Legends Series.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Stock Car competitors will battle it out on March 24 in a pair of 75-lap events.

The green flag for the afternoon of racing action will fly at 2 p.m.

The 150-lap race on March 24 will mark the second event of the 2012 campaign for the PASS Super Late Models. In season-opening action at Dillon, S.C. on March 10, Preston Peltier, the series' 2010 champion claimed a victory.

Jay Fogleman, who was the runner-up in the 2011 PASS South championship chase to Ryan Blaney, finished second at Dillon and was followed in the top five by Steven Naase, Ben Rowe and Kyle Grissom.

The region's top NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division competitors are also expected to be on hand on March 24 for the twin 75-lap shootouts.

In season-opening action on March 10, C.E. Falk won the NASCAR Whelen Late Model 300 presented by Danville Toyota at America's Hometown Track and was followed in the top five by Nick Smith, Eddie Johnson, Matthew Bowling and Dennis Holdren.

Grandstand gates will open at 11 a.m. on March 24 and qualifying time trials for all divisions will get cranked up at 11:45 a.m. A pre-race Fan Appreciation Session will be held trackside, beginning at 12:45 p.m.

Tickets for the March 24 event are currently on sale and priced at $10 each. Youth will be admitted for $5 when accompanied by a paying adult.
