It's time to start planning for 2012 racing season at America's Hometown Track
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Believe it or not, Christmas is just over one month away. Not only is Christmas closing in fast, the 2012 racing campaign at South Boston Speedway is just over four months away.

Season Passes, priced at only $150 are currently on sale and would make ideal Christmas gifts for the race fan on your list. The season pass covers the admission price for all 17 events at America's Hometown Track in the coming season.
In addition to season tickets being on sale, South Boston Speedway is also offering gift certificates in any price increments. The gift certificates would also make ideal stocking stuffers for the holiday season.
After completing a banner NASCAR Whelen All American Series schedule in 2011, South Boston Speedway is already gearing up and making plans for a bigger and better campaign in 2012.
The 2012 South Boston Speedway schedule has been announced and includes 17 events at the four-tenths mile asphalt oval.
The 2012 season will get cranked up on March 10 when the NASCAR Whelen Late Model 300 will be staged at the historic four-tenths mile facility. Traditionally, the NASCAR Whelen Late Model 300 has closed out the season at America's Hometown Track, but the decision was made to move the event to the start of the 2012 campaign.
During the 2012 season, South Boston Speedway will, once again, host its annual Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, July 3. That event, the FindItHere.com NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model 200, will feature a 200-lap Late Model Stock Car Division race, along with a 100-lap Limited Sportsman event, a 50-lap Pure Stock clash and the track's annual Fireworks Extravaganza.
Other special events on the 2012 South Boston Speedway schedule include three appearances by the touring PASS Super Late Models on March 24, June 9 and Aug. 18, and a visit by the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour on April 14. All of those special events will also feature twin races for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division.
