Stars of Hit Show "Madhouse" to Race Saturday at South Boston Speedway

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — A special afternoon doubleheader of racing action will be featured at South Boston Speedway Saturday when America's Hometown Track hosts the NASCAR K&N Pro Series 150 and the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150.

The first of the two 150-lappers will get the green flag at 3 p.m.

Racing action won't be all that will be offered at the four-tenths mile asphalt oval this weekend as fans will also have the opportunity to meet Burt Myers, Jason Myers and Tim Brown, all stars of the hit show Madhouse, before they buckle up for competition in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150.

In addition, Fan Appreciation sessions featuring the competitors in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series will also be slated.

Children in attendance prior to Saturday's racing action will also have an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny and take part in an Easter Egg Hunt.

One of the drivers to watch for in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150 will be Andy Seuss, driver of the #47 Q Racing Oil/Rockingham Boats Dodge. Seuss is coming off of one of his most successful weekends of his career as he led every lap to win the Spring Classic at Caraway Speedway two weeks ago.

Seuss, who resides in Hampstead, N.H., is also the defending champion of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150 at South Boston Speedway. He is currently second in the standings and trails leader Tim Brown by only nine points.

Brown, who motors the #83 Hayes Jewelers Chevrolet, is one of four drivers who have placed in the top 10 of the first two events of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour season. He has averaged a fourth-place finish in his two starts.

"We have had some good runs, but I want to win races and we are still working hard to get back to Victory Lane," Brown said.

Advance tickets are on sale for $15 each up until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 2. Adult general admission tickets at the gate will be $20. Tickets for youth ages 7-12 are priced at $5 each. Kids ages 6 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult.

The competitors in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Series will begin arriving at South Boston Speedway on Friday, April 2. Practice for the two divisions will begin Saturday, April 3, at 8:25 a.m.

Grandstand gates will open on Saturday, April 3 at noon and qualifying for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will begin at 12:20 p.m. An autograph session for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will be held behind the main grandstand at the end of time trials for the series.

Qualifying for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series is scheduled to commence at 1 p.m. and will be followed by an autograph session for the series, which will conclude at 2:15 p.m.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series race will start the afternoon of action off at 3 p.m. and will be followed by the 150-lap event for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.
