Tickets still available for annual South Boston Speedway Awards Ceremony on Jan. 16

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — In just over one week, South Boston Speedway will put the finishing touches on the 2009 season with its annual awards ceremony, which is slated Saturday, Jan. 16, at The Prizery in South Boston, Va.

Despite the fact that the awards ceremony is fast approaching, tickets for the Jan. 16 event are still available. Tickets are priced at $30 and are available at the speedway office. A social hour will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16 and will be followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. and the Champions' Reception at the close of the evening.

Among the host of honorees at the annual awards ceremony will be the 2009 division champions at America's Hometown Track. Division titles were claimed after a grueling, action-packed season of competition on the four-tenths mile asphalt oval by Justin Johnson in the NASCAR Whelen Late Model Stock Car Division, Brian Pembelton in the Limited Sportsman Division, Chris Crosby in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division and Donnie Lacks in the Southern Vintage Modifieds.

Many other recipients of awards and accolades throughout the 2009 campaign at South Boston Speedway will also be honored during the awards ceremony.

Also slated as part of the annual awards ceremony on Jan. 16 will be the biennial induction ceremony for the Virginia Motorsports Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is held every two years during the South Boston Speedway Awards Ceremony.
