All fathers will receive discounted admission to South Boston Speedway Saturday night

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — Want to give dad what he really wants this Father's Day weekend? If so, then treat him to a night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action at South Boston Speedway.

America's Hometown Track will be back in action for the second straight Saturday night for the running of the Dad's Night 150 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series race program.

A total of five races will be run Saturday with the first event getting cranked up at 7 p.m. In honor of Father's Day on Sunday, all dads will be admitted to Saturday night's event for $5.

Highlighting the night of racing action will be a 150-lap race for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Stock Car Division.

The action on the track in the highly competitive Late Model Stock Car Division will surely be intense. And, the action in the chase for the track championship is equally as exciting.

Justin Johnson and Deac McCaskill, who each have one victory this season, are currently deadlocked atop the standings, 17 points ahead of a third-place tie between Eddie Johnson and David Quackenbush.

Also slated Saturday night will be a 50-lap race for the Limited Sportsman Division, twin shootouts for the drivers in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division and an event for the Legendary Flathead Series.

Brian Pembelton leads Jeb Burton by 37 points in the Limited Sportsman Division standings, while Tommy Peregoy is third in the title chase, just eight points behind Burton.

Mickey Cassidy's lead in the chase for the championship in the Budweiser Pure Stock Division has been trimmed from a sizable mark to a mere six points over Courtney Crosby. Chris Crosby sits third in the standings, just six points out of second place.

Pit gates will open Saturday at 12 p.m. Practice for all divisions will be held from 2:15 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m. and qualifying time trials will get underway at 5:15 p.m.

Admission is $10 for adults. Youth, ages 7-12, will be admitted for $5 when accompanied by a paying adult and children, ages six and under, are admitted free with a paid adult.
