Five Races Set For Saturday's Craftsman 150 At South Boston Speedway

SOUTH BOSTON, VA. - A five-race card is on tap as NASCAR racing returns to South Boston Speedway Saturday night, April 21, with the running of the Craftsman 150 racing program.Saturday night's action, headlined by a 150-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division, gets the green flag at 7 p.m.

In addition to Saturday night's 150-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Cars, there will be races for the Limited Sportsman Division and the Budweiser

Pure Stock Division. There will also be races for the Southern Vintage Modifieds and the INEX Legends Cars.

Saturday's race-day schedule calls for registration to start and pit gates to open at 1 p.m. Practice will start at 2:15 p.m. and will continue until 3:45 p.m. Grandstand gates will open and ticket sales will begin at 5 p.m.

Qualifying time trials will start at 5:15 p.m. and the first race of the night will get the green flag at 7 p.m.

South Boston Speedway's Early Bird Special will be in effect with adult general admission tickets being $8 until 6:30 p.m. and $10 after that. Youths ages 10-15 will be admitted for $5 and kids ages nine and under will be admitted free with a paid adult.

Wayne Ramsey of Amherst, Va. will enter Saturday night's 150-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division with a slim six-point edge over David Triplett Jr. of Timberlake, N.C. and a 10-point lead over third-place driver Adam Barker of Hurt, Va.

Bruce Anderson of South Boston, Va., picking up where he left off last season in winning the Limited Sportsman Division crown, has won all three of the season's first three races in the division and will be trying to make it four wins in a row Saturday night.

Defending Budweiser Pure Stock Division champion, Chuck Watkins of Stem, N.C., enters Saturday night's Pure Stock Division event with an eight-point lead over Chris Seay of Ringgold, Va. with William Ridgeway of Burlington, N.C. standing third, 12 points out of the lead.

With a win in the season-opening event for the division, Rodney Cook of Reidsville, N.C., leads the points standings in the Southern Vintage Modifieds division.
