Season-ending SoBo 300 will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 at South Boston Speedway
South Boston Speedway will cap off the 2005 season on Saturday, Nov. 12 with the running of the SoBo 300.
The Late Model spectacular will feature the top Late Model Stock Car Division competitors from Virginia, North Carolina and other surrounding areas.
The green flag for the 300-lap shootout at America's Hometown Track will fly at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. The winner of the SoBo 300 will pocket a whopping $15,000 first-place check.
While all eyes will be focused on the 300-lap race on Saturday, the SoBo 300 will actually be a two-day event.
The SoBo 300 will get cranked up on Friday, Nov. 11 when pit gates will open for competitors at 7:30 a.m. A mandatory meeting for drivers and crew chiefs will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 and will be followed by practice at 3 p.m. and qualifying time trials at 4 p.m. Tickets for practice and qualifying will be $5, and children under 10 will be admitted free with a paid adult.
On Saturday, Nov. 12, registration will begin at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a mandatory meeting for drivers and crew chiefs at 10 a.m. Grandstand gates will open on Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the first qualifying race at noon and the last chance race at 1:30 p.m.
Tickets for the SoBo 300 are currently available at the speedway office. General admission tickets are priced at $10 in advance for adults. Tickets on the day of the race will sell for $15. Youth, ages 10-15, will be admitted for $10 and children, ages nine and under will be admitted free with a paid adult.
