South Boston Speedway 2005 season tickets on sale for $165 until February 1
SOUTH BOSTON, VA. — In just under two months, the roar of the racing engines will be heard, once again, in competition at South Boston Speedway.
The 2005 season, which promises to be loaded with action-packed racing on South Boston Speedway's historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval, will get cranked up on Saturday, March 12.
"We had a very successful season in 2004 and we're looking for even more excitement in 2005," South Boston Speedway General Manager Cathy Rice said. "We feel that we have put together a schedule that will really excite the race fans this year and we're anxiously awaiting the start of the new season."
A total of 25 events have been slated as part of the 2005 South Boston Speedway season. And, for a limited time, race fans can purchase season tickets, good for all 25 events, for $165. The season ticket special will run until Tuesday, Feb. 1.
Once again in 2005, the South Boston Speedway racing action will be highlighted by the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car Division. Other weekly racing divisions featured at the speedway will be the Limited Sportsman Division, Pure Stock Division and Grand Stock Division. A total of 22 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series events are on the 2005 schedule.
Touring series such as the Allison Legacy Series, Ford Focus Midget Series, Legends Series, Southern Vintage Modifieds and Legendary Flatheads are also slated for several appearances throughout the season at South Boston Speedway in 2005.
The USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series is scheduled to visit South Boston Speedway on two dates in 2005. They include April 9 and Aug. 6.
Other special events included in the schedule are an April 30 event for the UARA-STARS and Virginia Old Timers, along with the American Star Oval Challenge on June 25, which will also feature the speedway's annual Fireworks Extravaganza in celebration of the July 4 holiday.
The Limited Sportsman Division 200-lap race, along with the 100-lap event for the Super Trucks and the 75-lap Pure Stock Division race is set for Oct. 1, while the season finale 300-lap race for the Late Model Stock Car competitors is slated for Nov. 12.
